A16 TI PLANT (Cordyline fruiticosa) Asparagaceae family
An evergreen flowering plant of great cultural importance to several religions of the Pacific Islands. It is also cultivated for food and medicine as well as an ornamental. The ti (🌺kī) is a palm-like plant growing to 15 feet tall with a fanlike spiraling array of elongated leaves at the tip of a slender trunk. There are approximately 20 cultivars with colors from green to deep red, white to orange as well as variegated forms. Coloration can be sunlight dependent.
