🌺Aʻaliʻi is a native tree, its height may vary from one foot up to 30 feet tall, dependent on elevation, sunlight and water. Early Hawaiians used it for canoe building, weapons, agricultural tools, rafters and in house construction. Flowers are red or green; fruit is a colorful seed capsule that is beautiful and persists for months. The seeds and fruit were used as dye and in lei making, even today.
