Also called umbrella tree or ivy palm, this was first introduced to Hawai’i in the 1900’s, most likely as an ornamental. This is a highly invasive evergreen that spreads quickly, outcompetes natives and shades out understory growth. Grows up to 45 feet tall with palmately compound leaves, small red flowers and bright red/purple fruit.
