Also known as grand crinum lily, poison bulb, and giant crinum lily, this plant is a perennial and a bulb. Its fragrant, unique flowers and broad, dark green leaves add to its striking features. Variations include variegated leaves, red or purple tinted or striped flowers as well as purple foliage. Generally growing 4 to 6 feet in its native habitat, these have been observed to grow to 8 feet or taller in Hawai’i.
