Succulent that can be grown as a houseplant or outdoors in mild climates. Aloe has thick, green, fleshy leaves that form a fan from the central stem. The edge of the leaves is serrated with small teeth. The gel in the leaves of aloe vera can be used as a topical treatment for various skin ailments such as superficial burns and sunburn.
